Heritage Fellowship Church Distributed Food At The 7-Eleven In Herndon

A white box truck of 'Heritage Fellowship Church' distributed food on Saturday, Aug. 22, shortly after 9:30 in the morning. The truck was parked at the 7-Eleven parking lot in the Town of Herndon that is an informal day laborer site. The truck carried 300 boxes of food to be donated to anyone who asks. Filling Near Empty Food Pantry Shelves In Herndon

The Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, is trying to fill empty tummies. Mary Kaye "Kaycee" Childress, Executive Director of the Foundation said, "Our once-full shelves are now close to empty. Food insecurity affects everyone. Most significantly, it impacts the children in our community who are no longer able to get free breakfasts and lunches at school...No family should have to choose between buying food and paying their bills.
