The 39th Annual Ballyshaners' St Patrick's Day Parade will be held on March 7 2020 in Old Town Alexandria. This year's Grand Marshal for the event is owner of Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant and Bar, John Brennan. Bellyshaners which means Old Town in the Irish language Gaelic was created as the City of Alexandria seeks to promote and preserve Irish heritage.
The event will officially kick off at the Grand Marshal Diner which will held on March 6 at The Alexandria. On Saturday March 7 the day will start at 10: am with the Fun Dog Show and the parade to follow at 12:30 pm. The Fun Dog Show will be held at the Market Square and will see dogs and friends of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria join in the march in the parade. All residents are invited to attend this event and show some love to the Irish heritage.
