Celebrate the anniversary and honor the memory of the Female Stranger’s death at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum. The event will be held on October 14, 2019 and it will feature great local beers and a four course meal while learning the history surrounding the death of the Female Stranger. The Port City Brewery has crafted a special beer called the Long Black Veil Beer which was inspired by the famous tale of the Female Stranger. The Female Stranger died tragically at the Gadsby’s Tavern on October 14, 1816. The event is for ages 21 and over.Continue reading

The Annual Art Safari will be held on October 19th from 12 pm to 5 pm at the Torpedo Factory Center. The event which is an Alexandria tradition for almost a quarter century will feature a full day of hands on activities for kids and their families. Kids will be engaged in exciting and creative projects lead by dozens of artists. The event is perfect for kids ages 5 years and up. Everyone is invited to bring the kids along and enjoy this fun filled free event.
The Twig’s 78th Historic Annual Alexandria Homes Tour will take place on September 28th from 10 am to 3 pm in Old Town Alexandria. The walking tour will feature several of Alexandria’s finest 18th and early 19th century homes located in Old Town. Patrons will learn the historic pasts of these homes and learn more about the community and its evolution as a vibrant, livable community. The proceeds of the event will benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital.
