Seven Corners is a commercial center and census-designated place in Fairfax County. The population of Seven Corners is 9,255. Seven Corners has a "Falls Church" mailing address but is not within the independent City of Falls Church, Virginia. The area got its name from the intersection of State Route 7 (Leesburg Pike and East Broad Street), U.S. Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard), State Route 613 (Sleepy Hollow Road), State Route 338 (Hillwood Avenue) and Wilson Boulevard (also part of State Route 613). Spring Festival At Great Falls Park Had Mules, Music And More To Offer

Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park’s first Spring in the Park was celebrated by the visitors this past weekend. The park plans to repeat this event annually. On Saturday, an event named  Mules, Music and More was held. The event featured Dolly, one of the mules that pull the Charles F. Mercer canal boat. Dolly was just back from her winter at Mount Vernon in Virginia, ready to greet visitors, especially the children who couldn’t keep from petting her and asking Ranger Mark Myers questions about Dolly and the other mules who will summer at Great Falls. Mount Vernon Philanthropist Recieved 2019 Chancellor’s Award

A civic activist and philanthropist from Mount Vernon, Glenn Fatzinger, received the 2019 Chancellor’s Award for Leadership in Philanthropy for Virginia’s Community Colleges. He received the award in the spring. The award was given to acknowledge his longstanding support of Virginia’s Community Colleges. This included co-founding the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation, and the establishment of an endowed nursing scholarship in honor of his wife, Harriet H. Fatzinger, who died in 2011. Two partial nursing scholarships are awarded annually to Northern Virginia Community College students in her memory. Continue reading
