City Of Alexandria Announces Timeline For Reopening of Public Spaces

The City of Alexandria'd Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA) has released a timeline for the reopening of public parks, playgrounds, pools, recreation centers and more. The reopening of these public spaces will be in alignment with the "Forward Virginia" three phase reopening plan which will commence this Friday.In Phase one of the plan all public parks, trails and paths will open with majority of places to remain closed. In Phase two, public parks remain open while fields, sport courts, dog parks, nature and recreation centers will open. Torpedo Factory Art Center will open. Summer camp and outdoor pools is anticipated to open in July while sports classes and league will open with limited sports instruction. In Phase 3, all public places will open with some special events to be held on special conditions. All residents will need to follow guidelines on social distancing and mask wearing when visiting any public place.
