Explore the contributions and roles of women during the Civil War on Civil War Women's Day on March 14 2020 at Fort Ward Museum & Historic Site 4301 Braddock Rd Alexandria.
Patrons will learn about women's roles on the home font, in camp and on the battlefield. Kids will be given the opportunity to make crafts such as a ladies fan or a patriotic cockade ribbon - an ornament which was made and worn by women to support the war effort on both sides.
The event is free and open for everyone to attend.
