Alexandria’s ACT Now Fund Receives Monetary Donations For COVID-19 Relief

ACT for Alexandria has started receiving monetary donations towards it ACT Now COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund was set up to assist non profit organizations in need during the coronavirus crisis. Grants have already been issued to organizations that support children and youth, people who are impacted heavily by the crisis, homeless people, seniors and immigrants. Some organizations that have received grants include: Casa Chirilagua, Basilica of St Mary, YMCA, St Vincent de Paul Society, Neighborhood Heath, Volunteer Alexandria, Friends of Guest House and Carpenter's Shelter. These organizations will support emergency assistance for families, purchase protective equipment for staff and volunteers and funding to extend staff hours or new staff to continue supporting residents of Alexandria. ACT for Alexandria will continue to work on obtaining more donations to provide additional grants for non profit organizations.
