Chestnut Hills Park is a 4.43-acre, tree-shaded park located at the corner of N. Harrison St. & 27th St. N, which is adjacent to Yorktown High School’s athletic fields and track.

There’s a huge well-equipped playground at Chestnut Hills Park for kids of all ages. The playground is divided into two sections; one for toddlers and the other for school-aged children. The toddler section is very colorful and has a rubberized surface to keep the kids from hurting themselves. There’s a small play structure with a slide, a couple of “playhouses” with chalkboard roofs, an enormous sandbox complete with drippy faucet to create a “stream” and lots of donated digging/sand toys.

The older kids section contains a large play structure, wooden tunnels that a kid can also climb on, two sets of swings, a big jungle gym, and a short zip line. There are a lot of donated plastic ride-on vehicles scattered around the park that children are welcome to use. Kids and adults of all ages can play on paths that wind through a series of intertwined arches and games including finding the letters, numbers, colors or shapes.

Other than the large playground, Chestnut Hills Park has lots of tables and benches where parents can relax and watch their little ones play. There’s plenty of street parking so you won’t have a problem finding a spot.
