Fairfax County Ponders Upon The State And Future Of The County’s Dog Parks

Pet owners in Fairfax County has now the opportunity to participate in a study conducted about the state and future of the county’s dog parks. The county has 11 municipal dog parks. The park's authority is doing an in-depth study of these facilities to assess current needs, future priorities and to explore rules and etiquette, as well as sponsorship and volunteer opportunities. SPIRIT Open Equestrian Program, Inc. arranged the organization's public presentation, "Ride for SPIRIT," on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Frying Pan Farm Park Equestrian Center in Herndon and celebrated the achievements of its students. Ice-Skating Rink Opens At Reston Town Center

Its time skate outdoors and breathe the fresh air. It also gives you the benefits of burning up to 500 calories an hour while improving blood pressure, heart rate, and mood. Just grab your puffy coats, warm gloves and perhaps a helmet for little tykes and head to Reston Town Center.  The Ice-skating Pavilion opened Friday, November 8 with nonstop, seven-day a week skating, now through mid-March and extended holiday hours. DC's Dancing Stars Gala hosted its sixth annual charity fundraiser on Saturday, November 9. DC's Dancing Stars Gala is a fundraising event that mirrors the glitz and glamour of the hit ABC TV show, Dancing with the Stars. The Gala showcases local celebrities & corporate leaders competing for the mirror-ball trophy and $10,000 for the charity of the winner’s choice. Ford Partners With Reston’s Electrify America For Electric Vehicle Charging Network

Recently, Ford has partnered with two companies to build electric vehicle charging networks for its own FordPass. FordPass is a seamless network of EV charging stations that Ford owners will have app-based access to. Currently, Ford is working on its first two all-electric vehicles. One of them is a Mustang-inspired crossover SUV and the other is an electric version of its popular F-150 pickup truck. Continue reading
