Burke's population was 42,811 according to the 2020 United States Census. Burke is about 20 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., and is surrounded by Fairfax County communities like Fairfax Station, Springfield, and West Springfield. The neighborhood is mostly residential, with single-family homes, townhouses, and condominiums. Burke is well-known for its public schools, parks, and community events.
