Water Taxi Service Approved For Earlier Morning Commute

Morning commuters can now travel earlier via the water taxi service offered by the Potomac Riverboat Company. On Saturday, the Alexandria City Council approved for the morning water taxi service to start as early as 6 am, which is a change from the usual time of 9:30 am. The new change in time was considered after the 2019 Metro shutdown which resulted in an increased number of commuters using the water taxi. Potomac Riverboat Company provides water taxi service to Alexandria City Marina, National Harbor, the National Mall, Nationals Park, The Wharf DC, Georgetown, Audi Field and George Washington's Mount Vernon. The Potomac Riverboat Company is set to being its water taxi service for the season on March 1.
