Why You Should Attend Clifton Day Festival?

The annual Clifton Day is a non-profit event, raising funds for a variety of local organizations. The festival includes arts and crafts, antiques, demonstrations, the Town Market, live music, children’s activities and lots of good food. Kids enjoy the music, family entertainment, and the civil war re-enactment. Clifton Day takes place in the scenic town of Clifton and is held on the Sunday before Columbus Day (usually the second Sunday of the month). In 1967, the town sponsored the first Clifton Day Festival as a way to attract the public to this historic town. This celebration continues each year as a town fair and music festival. The Clifton Day festival features a marketplace with around 150 antique dealers, artists, bakers, and other vendors. Festival-goers can watch skilled artisans at work and learn about bread making, basket weaving, and other traditional crafts. Live music, children’s activities and plenty of food and beverage choices will add to the fun. Clifton Day is the only day of the year when the train stops in the town. The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) provides roundtrip train service to Clifton from all stops between Manassas and Rolling Road. The train ride to Clifton is free and the return trip costs $5 per person. Children under age two ride free. Parking starts at five dollars per car.
