As you step into the little bakery at 1515 N Courthouse Rd, in Arlington, the sweet smell of freshly baked pastries and coffee overwhelms you and draws you in ready to pummel your taste buds.   Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery is a New Orleans -styles eatery owned by celebrity chef David Guas. Known for his appearances on The Today Show, The Talk, and his role as host of Travel Channel's "American Grilled", Guas serves up New Orleans and South-inspires comfort food as a nostalgic tribute to his hometown. He has earned praise from Food & Wine, Southern Living, The New York Times, and The Washington Post Plenty of character sets the scene where they have counter service and plenty of seating both inside and outdoors. The menu includes Buttermilk Biscuits with Pepper Jelly, Pimento Cheese, Sandwiches, BBQ Pork, Roast Beef Arm Drips, Muff-a-lotta, Shrimp Creole, Red Beans & Rice, and sweets like Layer Cakes, fruit Pies, Pralines, PorKorn, and his signature Beignets. Coffee lovers also get in line for artfully poured java from Counter Culture Coffee. At the moment, Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery is only open to prepare free meals for kids and families affected by the closure of Arlington Public School due to COVID-19.
