Our small real estate company just changes details like the term of the lease, the address and so forth.
Leases ordinarily have a one-year term. Longer leases are infrequently approved and only after discussions with the landlord. With the property owner’s approval—especially during slower rental periods—Nesbitt Realty makes rental contracts for less than one year. Most usually owners accept longer or shorter leases to have the rental contract expire during a more active rental period. Nesbitt Realty will every so often work to place a tenant on a month-to-month or short-term lease to accommodate sale of the home by the landlord, a renter’s pending departure, or moving the investment row house into a more active rental period.
