Shenandoah River Lakes is a private community with 3 lakes, gated river access to North Fork river with boat ramp and pavilion. In addition to rivers and lakes, there are many hiking trails and camping. You can take a kayak float trip from Strasburg Park to community takes about 2.5 - 3 hours where you can fish and on portage at dam and you can usually see a bald eagle. Take a float trip from the community to Front Royal (340/522 bridge) takes about 2-2.5 hours with much more shallow areas. The community is 5 miles from Front Royal, Strasburg and Elizabeth Furnace. 8 miles from Skyline Drive entrance. Within 5 miles are parking areas for Buzzard Rock, Signal Knob and Elizabeth Furnace which has pavilions and big fields. Passage Creek with many pull off spots and water holes, also known for Trout fishing. Head to Front Royal for restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
