Below you will find a accounting of each subdivision (or condo) with properties for sale in McLean. This list is compiled from listings currently available today. The list below is updated every few minutes to ensure that we're providing accurate data that you may rely on. The information listed below is pulled directly from the MLS database, so there are a couple of tips to be aware of.
You might spot a subdivision listed more than once.
Firstly that the names of subdivisions (or condos) collected below were all typed into the MLS database by listing agents. Because humans entered the data, there may be spelling errors. Of course sometimes, those spelling errors can be corrected and that correction makes it appear that a listing has sold when in reality the error was corrected.
And, there may be some variances as to what exactly a specific subdivision is named. If there is just one letter of difference between two entries this will be listed separately. Hence, if you really need to get a count, you should look at all the variations of the subdivision's name. For example, Midtown condominiums in Fairfax County are at times known as Midtown, Midtowns, Midtown condomiums, Midtown Alexandria, Midtown Alexandria Station.
"I saw a sign posted but the subdivision isn't found below."
Is there a different name for this particular community?
Yes, for the reason stated above, make sure you watch out for all typical variations of the spelling.
Is the listing for rent?
This tally does not include rental properties. So, it's possible that the sign you saw was for a rental. Furthermore, this tally
only includes active listings in McLean.
Is the listing in coming-soon status?
An active listing is a property that is available and on the market. There are quite a few properties that have a sign posted that are not
active.
Case in point, from time to time a for sale is posted because the property is
coming soon. A property that is in coming-soon status is not
yet available and not yet for sale. Only agents have access to information about listings that are in coming-soon status. In addition, the MLS database does not permit us to list those properties in our list. If you want to know about coming-soon homes in a specific community, you'll have to email us directly.
Is the property sold?
Also, sometimes that a listing is already sold when you see the for sale posted. Under-contract riders don't go up instantly. And, from time to time that the listing agent is a little tardy with putting up the under-contract riders. Because of these reasons, you may see a sign posted when a property is not available.

You can arrange the subdivisions by count or alphabetically.
The arrows at the header below are useful for sorting the communities. But even so, when you arrange by tally, just keep in mind the points above, because those tallies aren't 100% accurate. Nevertheless, the data is still useful.
