Below you will see a accounting of every subdivision (or condo) with real estate on the market in Potomac Yard. This list is compiled from active listings today. The list below is refreshed every 15 minutes or so to ensure that we're providing timely data that you may depend on. The tallies listed below is taken directly from the Multiple Listing Service, so there are a few tips to keep in mind.
You may spot a subdivision listed more than once.
You should know that the names of subdivisions (or condominium communities) listed below were all typed into the Multiple Listing Service by listing agents. Because humans entered the data, there can be typographical errors. Later, those typographical errors can be corrected and that correction makes it appear that a listing has moved from one subdivision to another when really the listing was updated.
In addition, there may be some variances as to what exactly a particular neighborhood is named. If there is even one character of difference between a couple of entries this will be listed as different communities. Thus, if you really want to get a tally, you should consider all possible variations of the subdivision's name. For example, Midtown condominiums in Fairfax County are by some people called Midtown, Midtowns, Midtown condomiums, Midtown Alexandria, Midtown Alexandria Station.
"I saw a for sale sign posted but the community isn't found below."
Is there a different name for this particular community?
As a matter of course, for the reason stated above, try to you double-check all possible variations of the spelling.
Is the property for rent?
This tally does not cover rental properties. So, it may be that the sign you saw posted was for a rental property. In addition, this list
exclusively includes listings still for sale in Potomac Yard.
Is the property in coming-soon status?
An active listing is a property that is available and for sale. There are many properties that have a sign up that are not
active.
For instance, from time to time a sign is up because the property is
coming soon. A property that is coming-soon is not
yet available and not yet on the market. Only agents have access to information about listings that are coming-soon. Furthermore, the Multiple Listing Service does not allow Nesbitt Realty to include those listings in our list. If you want to know about coming-soon homes in a particular neighborhood, you'll have to email Nesbitt Realty directly.
Is the property sold?
And, from time to time that a listing is already sold when you spot the for sale up. Sold or under-contract notices don't go up the second a contract is signed. In addition, from time to time that the listing agent is a less than prompt with putting up the under-contract riders. Because of these reasons, it's possible to see a for sale sign up when a listing is not active.
