Listed below you will find a accounting of every subdivision (or condominium) with listings in Chain Bridge. This list is compiled from listings currently available today. This list is recalculated often to make sure that we're providing accurate tallies that you can depend on. The data found below is pulled directly from the MLS database, so there are some tips to be aware of.
You may find a subdivision listed multiple times.
Firstly that the names of subdivisions (or condominium communities) compiled below were all typed into the MLS database by listing agents. Because humans entered the data, there will be typographical errors. Later, those spelling errors can be corrected and that correction makes it seem like a property has sold when actually the listing was updated.
And, there may be some variances as to what exactly a particular community is named. If there is just one character of difference between two entries this will be counted separately. So, if you really want to get a tally, you should look at all the variations of the subdivision's name. By way of illustration, Midtown condominiums near the Huntington Metro are sometimes known as Midtown, Midtowns, Midtown condomiums, Midtown Alexandria, Midtown Alexandria Station.
"I saw a for sale sign posted but the community isn't listed below."
Is there another name for this specific neighborhood?
As a matter of course, for the reason stated above, try to you look for all typical variations of the name.
Is the listing for rent?
This list does not include rentals. Hence, it may be that the sign you saw was for a rental. And, this tally
exclusively covers active listings in Chain Bridge.
Is the listing coming soon?
An active listing is a property that is available and on the market. There are quite a few properties that have a sign up that are not
active.
Case in point, from time to time a sign is posted because the property is
coming soon. A listing that is coming-soon is not
yet available and not yet on the market. Only agents have access to information about properties that are in coming-soon status. Not to mention, the Multiple Listing Service does not permit us to count those properties in our list. If you want to know about coming-soon real estate in a particular neighborhood, you'll have to get in touch with us directly.
Is the listing under-contract?
Not to mention, it happens that a listing is already
under contract when you spot the for sale posted. Sold notices don't go up the second a contract is signed. In addition, from time to time that the Realtor is a little tardy with putting up the under-contract signs. Because of these reasons, it's possible to see a for sale sign posted when a listing is not available.

The arrows at the header below are useful for arranging the neighborhoods. But even so, when you sort by number of active listings, just remember the points above, because the number isn't 100% accurate. Nevertheless, the data is still useful.
