Dale City is located off I-95 in Southern Prince William County. Most residents in Dale City commute to Dale Boulevard to Prince William Parkway or Interstate 95. Dale City is made up of "dales' or neighborhoods that branch off of Dale Boulevard. Each of these neighborhoods has a name with a 'dale' suffix.
The streets along Dale Boulevard (generally) proceed alphabetically when followed from East to West starting from Gideon Blvd. and ending at Hoadly Rd.: Ashdale, Birchdale, Barksdale, Cherrydale, Cloverdale, Darbydale, Evansdale, Forestdale, Glendale, Hillendale, (I and J were skipped), Kerrydale, Kirkdale, Lindendale, Mapledale, Nottingdale, Oakdale, Princedale, Queensdale, Ridgedale, Silverdale, and Troutdale. Street names in each neighborhood all start with the first letter of the neighborhood.
