Reston is a planned neighborhood in Fairfax County, Virginia. Robert E. Simon, who envisioned a community with a mix of residential, business, and leisure areas. Reston was established it in the 1960s. Reston now has over 60,000 inhabitants and a variety of living choices, including single-family houses, condos, and condominiums. Reston's many parks, lakes, and outdoor leisure places are one of its distinguishing characteristics. There are over 55 miles of pathways and trails in the neighborhood, as well as numerous public parks and wildlife areas. Lake Fairfax Park, which provides camping, hiking, and fishing, and Reston Town Center Park, which holds concerts and events throughout the year, are two of the most famous parks in Reston. Reston is also well-known for its lively central district, known as Reston Town Center. The town center has many stores, eateries, and entertainment choices, as well as a movie theater and an ice skating facility. The neighborhood is home to several large employers, including Microsoft and Google, as well as the National Wildlife Federation's headquarters. Reston is also home to several highly ranked schools, making it a favorite family destination. Reston is a few miles north of Dulles International Airport and is readily approachable via main commuter roads such as the Dulles Toll Road and I-495.
