The
Mount Vernon District runs from
Belle Haven at the northern end of the
Fort Hunt neighborhood all the way to Fort Belvoir. Furthermore, the Mount Vernon District includes
Huntington and
New Alexandria. Mount Vernon homes have an Alexandria postal address, but they are located in Fairfax County. Homes in this neighborhood are often a little bigger with nice large lots, often wooded in close proximity to the waterfront because Mount Vernon is bounded by river on three sides. Dogue Creek is to the south between Yacht Haven and Fort Belvoir, while Little Hunting Creek is between Woodland Park and homes in Stratford Landing and Fort Hunt.
