Fairfax County To Have FACETS Hypothermia Prevention And Response Program

With vaccinations on the rise, FACETS will resume the annual Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program, starting November 28th. This year’s program will again rotate between various faith community partner locations throughout the winter and will include appropriate COVID-19 precautions prescribed by the Fairfax County Health Department to provide a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff. Volunteers Needed In Fairfax County To Help With COVID-19 Vaccinations

Interested in helping with the COVID-19 vaccination effort? If you are — and can pass a criminal background check — you could help with Inova Stonebridge’s vaccination site in Alexandria. Volunteers are needed daily for at least the next six weeks to help clinical and logistical support teams. Requirements include being 18 or older, fluent in English, the ability to stand for extended periods of time, and the ability to push an adult in a wheelchair. Continue reading

Food For Neighbors Received A Record 20,000 Pounds Of Food

Food For Neighbors celebrates receiving over 20,000 pounds of food during its March 6th Red Bag Program food collection. This is a record amount of food for the nonprofit, and the accomplishment highlights communities in Northern Virginia that step up to support students who struggle with food security. Parks And Highways Cleaned Up By Volunteers In Fairfax County

Volunteers Pack Food Boxes For Needy At The Arrival Of Ramadan

The Islamic holy month of Ramadan has started. To celebrate the spirit of Ramadan, Islamic Relief USA helped to assemble 1500 food boxes to help the people in need. Islamic Relief USA is a nonprofit humanitarian and advocacy organization based in Alexandria. About 60 volunteers gathered for this purpose and packed the boxes with nonperishable foods in Springfield.
