Golf Courses To Be Reopened In Fairfax County

Fairfax County Park Authority has announced that its phased reopening would open golf courses on May 8. Laurel Hill Golf Club members Kelly Towns from Burke, and Jim Poodiack from Springfield, were among the first to get tee times. Towns enjoyed coming during work breaks before the club closure due to the coronavirus outbreak. Poodiack was there because he had not played for a while and hoped the activity would aid his overall fitness. Continue reading

National Park Service Ready To Reveal Future Options For Claude Moore Farm

The National Park Service is ready to unveil the three options for the Claude Moore Farm. These concepts will show that what’s next at the site of a former living history farm depicting the Colonial era, on 69 acres of parkland in McLean, Virginia, inside the Capital Beltway. The options include tying the area in with the series of parks, trails, and wildlife preserves that are considered part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway and managed by NPS. Continue reading
