Pop-Up Drive-In Theater Introduced At Tysons

Fairfax County has a few and far away drive-in theaters, but those still operating have gained new popularity amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Tysons, Virginia, has also just got one though it’s just a pop-up. Big mixed-use development The Boro is hosting weekend summer drive-in movies at Tysons. Drive-in Movie Theater In Lorton Opens For family-Friendly Entertainment

The Workhouse Arts Center will be presenting movie entertainment for the whole family adapting to the special circumstances of COVID-19 with the need for social distancing. This will be done with drive-in movies on the Workhouse campus. The drive-in movies will bring back what was once a staple of summertime entertainment throughout Northern Virginia and the nation. Fairfax County Budget Proposes $26.5 Million To Preserve And Promote Affordable Housing

Fairfax County residents will have to pay higher taxes in the future if Executive Bryan Hill gets his way. On Tuesday, Hill asked the board of supervisors to raise real estate taxes and levy a new tax on movie, theater and concert tickets. According to Hill 2021 budget calls for increasing the real estate tax rate by 3 cents to $1.18 per $100 of assessed value. He estimates the increase would raise the average tax bill about $346.
