Great Falls Little League Prepares To Proceed With Practices And Games Later This Month

The Great Falls Little League is gearing up to start its fall season later this month, with games beginning in early September. The league’s plans for reopening are laid out in its recently released COVID-19 Return To Play guidelines that are modeled after guidance from public health experts and other youth leagues across the country which have already returned to play. The resumption of youth sports that involve only incidental contact between players has been permitted since Fairfax County entered Phase 2 of the “Forward Virginia” plan on June 12. The Gatorade Company has honored Jamie Wang of National Cathedral School by announcing her as its 2018-19 Gatorade District of Columbia Softball Player of the Year. The Gatorade Company has been honoring the nation’s best high school athletes for 34 years. Wang lives in McLean and she is the first athlete to be chosen as Gatorade District of Columbia Softball Player of the Year from National Cathedral School. The aim of the award is to recognize outstanding athletic excellence, as well as, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field. Continue reading
