Police Members Honored By Fairfax City

Fairfax City Police Lt. Michael Bartholme and Dispatcher Cynthia Tetterton were honored, last Tuesday, March 2, with the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) Silver Patrick Henry Medal. City Of Alexandria Police Department Celebrates 150th Anniversary

The Alexandria Police Department will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in July 2020. City Council will present a resolution recognizing the anniversary of the department. The resolution will honor one constable and sixteen police officers who died throughout the police department's history. The police department was one of the first police departments in the US to earn national accreditation in 1986. Continue reading

Fairfax County Leaders Approve Body-Worn Camera Program For The Police Department

Fairfax County leaders have given approval to a body-worn camera program for the Fairfax County Police Department. Fairfax County Supervisor Jeff McKay, of the Lee District, said before the vote, "Not only does our community support this but so does our Police Department. Officers welcome transparency. They know that their training instinctively gets them to do the right thing, and they’re happy to display that when circumstances come about that are less than ideal." Continue reading

When a cute pup enters a room, everyone wants to cuddle him. Research says that it is due to the release oxytocin hormone which is also referred to as the "cuddle chemical". That is a big reason why Fairfax County police have decided to employ them.
