City Of Alexandria Becomes Newest Member Of Northern Virginia Economic Development Alliance

The City of Alexandria has teamed up with nine other Northern Virginia jurisdictions in a new economic development partnership called the Northern Virginia Economic Development Alliance (NOVA EDA). The partnership which includes the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, the Arlington County, the City of Fairfax, Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, City of Falls Church, Fauquier County, Loudoun County, City of Manassas, City of Manassas Park and Prince William County Department of Economic Development will collaborate to promote Northern Virginia as a business and economic development destination. The collaboration of these jurisdictions has stemmed from the location of Amazon's HQ2. NOVE EDA has released a statement saying "Amazon's desire to evaluate regional assets mimics trends seen across various industries - companies do not see jurisdictional borders and are looking for regional workforce, transportation, housing and liveability assets." The Nova EDA and The Virginia Economic Development Partnership will be working together to create a brand for Northern Virginia.
