Fairfax County School Board Releases Decision About Class of 2020

Superintendent Scott Brabrand has declined any possibilities of summer in-person commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020. Brabrand said the School Board agreed on his recommended approach after receiving results from high school students and parents on his Survey on Graduation Preferences. They committed that they will celebrate the seniors "in the safest and most personalized manner possible." Continue reading

Oakton High School Held Fifty-First Commencement Exercises

June 6 was a special day for the community of Oakton High School. Students were accompanied by teachers, friends, family, administrators and distinguished guests at the Fifty-first Commencement Exercises of the school. Almost 670 young adults attended the ceremony wearing burgundy caps and gowns at the George Mason University EagleBank Arena. All of them were ready to start their next big adventure. Continue reading
