Penelope "Penny" Walke, a 14-year-old Freshman at Langley High, received the Girl Scouts of the USA Lifesaving Medal of Honor for her role in saving her father's life in June 2021. Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton bestowed the honor, a national award granted to Girl Scouts who have shown the presence of mind and true Girl Scout spirit in saving a life. Continue reading

Save Planet Earth and Donate To A Children’s Charity By Shopping At Whole Foods in Alexandria

Duke Street Whole Foods in Alexandria is playing its part in fighting plastic pollution while donating to The Child & Family Network Centers by encouraging residents to walk with their own shopping bags. From now until June 1 2020 Whole Foods at 1700 Duke Street will donate the five cent bag fee to the local charity. The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) started in 1984 by a group of mothers living in a public housing community. The organization has since grown to help children and their families in need in Alexandria. Donate to a local charity and save the Earth by bringing your own shopping bags to Whole Foods at Duke Street.

Come to Inca Social to help Britepaths in their quest to help 500 Fairfax County families who would miss a December holiday meal and gifts. Inca Social will be donating a percentage of sales from this happy hour to go towards Britepaths goal.
