Ruby Tucker Park is a neighborhood park located at 3500 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Alexandria. In June 2011 the park was dedicated to the "Queen of Lynhaven" Ruby Tucker. Ruby Tucker was an active advocate for her Lynhaven neighborhood until her death. She served on the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority for 12 years while caring for foster kids throughout her life. She also served as a director of the ALIVE Child Development Center and PTA president for several schools across Alexandria. Continue reading

Why Brookvalley Park In Alexandria?

The Brookvalley Park which is located at 5599 Holmes Run Parkway in Alexandria is a 22 acre regional park which features the Bicentennial Tree, the oldest tree in Alexandria. The park is a natural habitat to many species of animals and its a great area for dog owners to bring their dogs for playtime and exercise. Brookvalley Park also features garden plots, playground area, picnic areas and walking/bicycle trail. Garden plots can be rented from the 4-H Club which falls under the Department of Recreational, Parks and Cultural Activities. The Holmes Run Trail runs north through the park while All Veterans Park is located southwest with Tarleton Park located southeast of the park.
