The Marine Corps Marathon weekend is here and I am ecstatic. Popularly known as "The People's Marathon" and "Marathon of Monuments" it is one of the greatest marathons in the country and it happens in Arlington.
The course, which begins and ends near the Marine Corps War Memorial(Iwo Jima), takes the runners through our nation's city monuments including the Pentagon, US. Capitol, Lincoln, Jefferson, Korean and Vietnam Memorials.

The Twig's 78th Historic Annual Alexandria Homes Tour will take place on September 28th from 10 am to 3 pm in Old Town Alexandria. The walking tour will feature several of Alexandria's finest 18th and early 19th century homes located in Old Town. Patrons will learn the historic pasts of these homes and learn more about the community and its evolution as a vibrant, livable community. The proceeds of the event will benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital.
