You might spot a subdivision listed more than once.

You should know that the names of subdivisions (or condominium communities) compiled below were all put into the Multiple Listing Service by Realtors. Because humans entered the data, there may be spelling errors. Later, those typographical errors can be corrected and that correction makes it seem like a listing has been listed when really the listing was updated.

Furthermore, there may be some variation as to what exactly a particular subdivision is named. If there is just one letter of difference between a couple of entries this will be listed separately. Hence, when you really want to get a clear tally, you should look at all possible variations of the community's name. For instance, Midtown condominiums in Alexandria are by some people entered in as Midtown, Midtowns, Midtown condomiums, Midtown Alexandria, Midtown Alexandria Station.

"I saw a for sale sign up but the community isn't found below."

Is there another name for this particular subdivision?
Definitely, for the reason stated above, make sure you look for all typical variations of the spelling.
Is the listing for rent?
This tally does not cover rental properties. So, it's possible that the sign you saw was for a rental property. Furthermore, this tally only covers active listings in Chester Gap.
Is the property in coming-soon status?
An active listing is a property that is available and on the market. There are quite a few listings that have a sign posted that are not active. For example, from time to time a sign is posted because the property is coming soon. A property that is in coming-soon status is not yet available and not yet for sale. Only agents can access to information about listings that are coming-soon. Also, the MLS database does not permit us to count those properties in our count.
