Animal Welfare League Of Alexandria Gives Support To Pet Owners

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is supporting pet owners though this coronavirus pandemic with donations of pet supplies. The coronavirus pandemic has left man pet owners jobless and unable to care for their pets and as such the AWLA has been providing supplies to these owners and others.

Since mid-March the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria has provided more than 5,000 lbs of pet supplies through the City. The supplies include wet and dry food, cat litter, puppy pads for house training and much more. The organization has also partnered with Senior Services of Alexandria to provide monthly deliveries of pet supplies to senior citizens with pets.

In addition to providing supplies, AWLA is offering several programs to assist pet owners such as the Community Pet Pantry and Animeals, a spay-an-neuter program for low income pet owners, community pet care fairs and behavioral support and advice.
