Del Ray Business Association will be celebrating the first ever First Thursday: Porch Party on Thursday May 7 from 6 pm to 8 pm. First Thursday is a series of outdoor street festivals celebrated on the First Thursday from April to September.
The event will feature a wide range of activities that will celebrate the community while maintaining social distancing standards. Residents can participate in activities such as ordering dinner and drinks for carryout from one of the community's local restaurants. Residents can have dinner on their porch or front yard while interacting with their neighbor.
The Grace Church Food Pantry will be hosting a food drive on Thursday and residents are encouraged to donate canned food for needy families and individuals. Plastic tubs and boxes will be placed at several locations across Del Ray. The church is seeking to collect 1,000 non perishable food items for distribution to the needy.
