Located in the Yorktown area of northern Arlington is a small, quiet, and charming community known as Garden City. Contrary to what its name suggests, this is not a city but there are gardens all around it.
Garden City community dates back to the early 1930s when home styles included Victorian, Colonial Revival, Cape Cod, early brick Ramblers and other cottage-types. The community is mostly known for its detached single-family homes, tree-lined streets, well-manicured lawns, and gardens. The homes here are reasonably priced and cost between $739,000 to $849,000.
Residents at Garden City enjoy various conveniences including Lee Harrison Shopping Center and Garden City Shopping Center. They also have Safeway, Targets, and Harris Teeter grocery stores within a walking distance. When it comes to outdoor recreation, the residents go to Chestnut Hills Park and the larger Greenbriar Park which offers a wide array of sports facilities. Garden City is also a short walk to metro buses and transportation routes.
Garden City community is served by Nottingham Elementary, Williamsburg Middle, and Yorktown High school.
