The Women’s Storytelling Festival, hosted by Better Said Than Done, will take place on March 13-14, 2020, in Fairfax, Virginia. Though storytelling festivals have been a popular event in the US for over 40 years, this will be the first-ever storytelling festival with a lineup composed exclusively of women.
The inaugural Women’s Storytelling Festival will feature performances by 18 women, including true, personal stories as well as folk, fictional, and historical stories. This will be the first-ever storytelling festival with a lineup composed exclusively of women. The storytelling showcase featuring Stephanie Garibaldi, Susan Gordon, Jay Johnson, Arthuretta Martin, Diana Veiga, and Cyndi Wish.
A number of the performers have appeared on stages around the country (including the International Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee), as well as on NPR. Some stories will feature mature content; the festival is recommended for adult audiences. Discounted tickets ($20-75) available through February 29, 2020. Events take place at The Auld Shebeen and Old Town Hall in the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
