Explore exciting science activities and displays that celebrate the accomplishments of women in aviation and space exploration at the National Air & Space Museum’s Women in Aviation & Space Family Day. The day will feature hands-on activities, inspiring women, and fun challenges to celebrate women’s contributions to space, aviation, and STEM fields.
The purpose of this family day is to introduce every member of your unique family to groundbreaking women of the past and the women driving us into the future. From the days of the earliest pilots to today’s space program, women have made significant contributions.
During this special event, on March 14, 2020, you will have the opportunity to meet female role models and learn about the women who inspired them. Girl Scout and Brownie troops will also have the opportunity to participate in a build-your-own flyer design challenge. This event is free to attend, however, parking is $15/car.
Step into Rosie the Riveter’s “We Can Do It” poster at the dress-up, photo station and snap A “We Can Do It!” photo. Take a break at one of the storytimes, featuring I’m Amelia Earhart, or learn how to identify stars in the inflatable planetarium.
