Join The Virginia Harp Center Festival

Good news for harpists and harp enthusiasts in Arlington, Virginia Harp Center Festival is taking place late March.

The Festival will be bringing diverse artists from around the world to teach workshops and performance classes, and perform in live concerts. World-renowned orchestral harpist, Anneleen Lenaerts, will conduct a Master class, a class on Orchestra Repertoire and one on performing like a pro. She will also perform at the opening concert on Friday, March 20 at 8:00 pm. Celtic harpist Maeve Gilchrist will instruct a Celtic Melodies workshop, an Improv for Dummies, and give an evening concert at 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 21. And finally, Rhett Barnwell, well known and respected as both a classical and Celtic harpist will perform on Sunday, March 22, at 3 pm. He will also present workshops in harp arranging and composing. There will also be other harpists performing in the festival including the American Youth Philharmonic Harp Ensemble, Virginia Harp Center founder Mary Jane D’Arville, Robbin Gordon-Cartier, and the Maryland Classic Youth Harp Ensemble. You will also get a chance to participate through an open mic session or be part of the VHC Festival Harp Ensemble. The festival will take place at the Hilton Arlington, 905 North Stafford Street.
