Claremont is a residential neighborhood in southwestern Arlington that was initially developed between 1946 and 1954 to provide affordable housing for a large number of veterans returning from World War II veterans.

The Claremont community is mostly made up of single-family homes with architectural style including Colonial Revival, Cape Cod, and Ramblers. Most of the homes are a modest one and two-stories, but some have been renovated and enlarged. A majority of the houses driveways instead of garages. You will find the environment in Claremont peaceful and relaxing with lots of mature trees and paved sidewalks.

Virginia Route 7 which borders the neighborhood offers a variety of retail, dining, and service-centered outlets, such as Target, Giant, Safeway, and more. Claremont community is roughly bounded by South Four Mile Run Drive on the north, South Walter Reed Drive on the east, Virginia Route 7/King Street on the south and South George Mason Drive on the west. Although not near the metro, commuters at Claremont have access to Rapid Transit buses to transport them to Pentagon and Pentagon City Metro stations on the blue and yellow lines.

Public schools that serve the Claremont community include Abingdon Elementary, Gunston Middle, and Wakefield High schools.
