River Farm is the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society. Situated at 7931 E Boulevard Drive in Alexandria, the 25 acre landscaped site is a garden gem and is one of George Washington's original five farms.
River Farm still remains a historic site and features Kentucky coffee trees and an Osage orange tree which was a gift presented to George Washington from Thomas Jefferson. Today the venue features a garden, an orchard and a wildlife garden which is home to goldfish, frogs and turtles. Couples often use the site as an indoor or outdoor venue for their weddings and receptions. Its scenic view of the Potomac River provides the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.
River Farm is the perfect place for the hosting of weddings, family picnics, bird watchers and painters. Guided tours are offered by staff. Reservations for the tours should be made in advance.
