Pilot Program For King Street Pedestrian Only Zone Slated For April

The pilot program for the pedestrian only zone on King Street is slated to being in April and end in October. The proposed plan for a section of King Street to be converted to a pedestrian only zone on weekends is soon to become a reality as the plan has now been approved by the Transportation Commission. When the pilot program takes effect in April, the 100 block of King Street will be closed to vehicular traffic on weekends. The program will continue until October. City officials is also proposing a new Pick up Drop Off (PUDO) for valet service, food delivery and rideshare service. The King Street Trolley will also be rerouted from the area.
