The park features a playground with one large play structure which is the focal point of the park. The structure is designed for older children between ages 5-12 and features a tall slide and climbing structures that are set over mulch and rubber surfaces.
There's also a merry-go-round with soft rubber surfacing underneath and a large sandlot with clean white sand and built-in digger for the younger kids. The park has no swings but there's a large open field located behind the playground for the kids to run around. The park also has a gazebo with one picnic table.
Big Walnut Park is open from sunrise to sunset. The park is not fenced, there's limited parking and no bathrooms.
