Family Friendly Parks To Visit In Alexandria

The City of Alexandria is filled with many historical attractions and entertainment areas for residents to enjoy. The city is also filled with more than 900 acres of parks and dedicated space for families to meet up and enjoy some family friendly fun. Here are some family friendly parks located in the City:
  • Armory Tot Lot - located at 208 South Royal Street, the small 0.18 acres kids oriented park is a favorite place for locals and tourists. The park features a large sandbox, double teeter totter, tunnel slide, double slide, two climbing features and two bucket swings.
   
  • Ben Brenman Park - located at 4800 Brenman Park Drive, the 59.3 acres park is home to West End's Farmers Market which is held every Sunday from May to November. The parks features an amphitheater, athletic fields, fenced dog park, picnic pavilion with grill, playground, restrooms and walking/bicycle trails.
 
  • Jones Point Park transitions into Old Town Jones Point Park - located at 1 Jones Point Drive, this park is home to the oldest lighthouse in Alexandria. The park offers fishing piers for casting of American catfish, rock bass and American eels. There are two playgrounds and two basketball courts available.
   
  • Montgomery Park - located at 901 North Royal Street, this park is a small open space with fenced dog run, lighted tennis courts, tennis practice board, picnic tables, playground and water fountain.
   
  • Windmill Hill Park - located at 501 South Union Street, the park is the perfect place for families to enjoy. The park features a swing set which overlooks the river , basketball court, playground, riverfront seating and volleyball.
