Things To Know About Gulf Branch Nature Center & Park

Established in 1966, Gulf Branch Nature Center was the first facility of its kind in Arlington County dedicated to the study and conservation of nature. Since then, generations of Arlingtonians have visited the nature center, participated in its education programs and Pioneer Day events, and hiked along its trails.

Nestled in a lovely park setting at 3608 North Military Rd in Arlington, Gulf Branch Nature Center provides interpretive environmental education programs for people of all ages and for a wide variety of audiences including small groups. It features a restored log cabin, live animal exhibit room, children's Discovery Room, pollinator garden, exhibits, an observation bee-hive, and a classroom(20 person capacity). There is also a nature trail with stunning views that leads to the Potomac River. Gulf Branch Nature Center & Park is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays (10 am-5 pm) and on Sundays (1 pm to 5 pm).
