Ballston's tallest building is almost complete.
After ten years of planning and construction, the 22-story mixed-use building at 4040 Wilson Blvd is set to open in February.

According to developer Shooshan Company, the complex, which is part of the larger Liberty Center development, will consist of 250 apartment units, 191,000 square feet of office space, a co-working center, showers and bike storage, a rooftop conference center, and ground-floor retail.
The building will also have other residential amenities such as an outdoor rooftop with resort-like hot tub, swimming pools, outdoor fire pits, grills, a tenant coffee bar and reading nook, and a rooftop clubhouse with a catering kitchen. The residential units will start from the 11th floor and most will offer views of DC.
Apartment developer and real estate investment trust, AvalonBay Communities, in 2017 announced that it was moving its headquarters to 4040 Wilson — in a three-floor, 73,00 square-feet space — from nearby 671 N. Glebe Road.
The Salt Line restaurant will open on the ground floor with a 100-seat outdoor patio space featuring a fixed bar. VIDA Fitness, a high-end gym that recently promoted itself by offering free classes in the neighborhood, is also expected to open its first non-D.C. location in the building.
According to Shooshan, the apartment will begin pre-leasing in January.
