On November 29th the City of Alexandria will be hosting its very own Black Friday! Dubbed as Alexandria's Alternative Black Friday, more than 40 independent boutiques in Old Town and Del Ray will be offering special deals on designer and coveted merchandise including home decor, chic fashions, gourmet food. classic toys and gifts for dogs. Boutiques will also be offering special discounts with some opening by 7 am. Shoppers can also take advantage of Plaid Friday, an alternative to big box stores' Black Friday. Be on the lookout for Plaid Friday posters on retailers' doors and walk away with a limited edition tote when you spend $100 or more after 10am. Patrons dressed in plaid will receive a free gift card. Plaid Fridays is a joint partnership between Old Town Business and Old Town Boutique District as they seek to promote both local and independently owned businesses during the holiday.
