Dover-Crystal is a small residential neighborhood located beside the Potomac River in Arlington, Va. With its hilly and woodsy terrain, tons of trees, very walkable streets, and close proximity to Washington DC, Dover-Crystal is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Arlington.
Dover-Crystal was developed around the 1950s and 60s and mostly features detached homes with a few offerings of townhomes, condominiums, and apartment complexes. Dover-Crystal offers a divergent array in architectural styles ranging from traditional Colonial homes to contemporary house plans.
Due to its prime location, Dover-Crystal offers a lot of conveniences to its residents including easy access to restaurants and nightlife of Washington DC and a wide array of recreational activities including golf, swimming, and tennis from the Washington Gold and Country Club. Dover-Crystal is also surrounded by several hiking/biking trails including Blue Jay Way, the White Oak Way, the Potomac Heritage Trail, and the Overlook Trail. Potomac Overlook Regional Park, located in the northern tip of the neighborhood, and Windy Run Park in the east, are also some of the neighborhoods favorite spots.
Although Dover-Crystal does not have a Metro Station, it’s unique location allows easy access to both Maryland and Washington DC via Metrobus or George Washington Memorial Parkway, Route 29, Route 124, and I-66. The ART bus also travels within the neighborhood.
Public schools that serve Dover-Crystal include Taylor Elementary, Dorothy Hamm Middle school, and Washington-Liberty High school.
