- Arlington National Cemetery- this national military cemetery that has been in existence for more than 150 years shows the true cost of war. Take a stroll through this historic park or attend the time-honored memorial ceremony. Every year on Veteran's Day, there is a prelude concert which begins at 10.30 a.m. in the Memorial Amphitheater. It is then followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at 11 a.m. and an observance program in the amphitheater.
- Women's Memorial- located at the gateway of the Arlington National Cemetery, this is the only major national memorial that honors women in all services that defended the U.S during all eras. The annual Veterans Day observance starts at 3 p.m. at the memorial and includes formal military honors, a keynote address, veteran's remarks, and a wreath-laying.
- Air Force Memorial- located on the grounds of Fort Myer, near The Pentagon and adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery, this memorial which honors the men and women of the U.S. Air Force, features represented by three soaring stainless steel spires that could be seen from miles around. Each year on Veterans Day, there is a wreath-laying ceremony with musical accompaniment from a military band.
- U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima)- represented by the world's largest cast bronze statue dedicated to all Marines who have sacrificed their lives since 1775, your Veterans Day tour of Arlington would not be complete without a visit to this place.
On November 11th each year, we celebrate the men and women in uniform who have served our country at one point or another in history.
