Autumn is almost here and it brings with it some delicious and crispy goodies; a cider fest in Rossyln.
The fest will happen on Thursday, October 17 and multiple breweries are expected to set up stations in Gateway Park (1300 Lee Highway) so festival-goers can wander and sip at will. Attendees will also be able to test their mettle in a pie-eating contest later that afternoon. The participants will have one minute to eat a whole pie and the winners will walk away with a “basket of Rosslyn goodies”.
“We’re sure you’ve done your share of wine and beer tastings, but do you know how to taste cider and distinguish between varieties?” event organizers wrote on their website. “Well, now’s your chance to learn more about this delicious alcoholic beverage that’s favored by many who don’t like beer.”
The festival will run from 4 p.m to 8 p.m and those who wish to attend are encouraged to buy tickets online. The tickets cost $15 and will cover the cost of sampling eight different brews.
Though there have been other festivals in Arlington that have offered mulled and regular ciders in past years, this is the second time that Rosslyn has thrown-in a cider-only festival into the mix.
