The Emerging Writers Festival chaired by Old Town Books founder Ally Kirkpatrick is set to host a series of events in Old Town Alexandria from August 16 - 18. The festival will include seminars and workshops from award winning editors, authors and producers. The events will take place at The Atheneum 201 Prince Street with some events to be held at ALX Community, Vikriya Lab and Hotel Indigo. Ally Kirkpatrick states that the festival "aims to celebrate, educate and inspire emerging writers". The event will also cater to non writers with events for readers and book lovers. book fair and public author talks. Everyone is invited to attend the event and learn new skills as a writer while meeting their favorite author.
